EXPEDITION

Explore mythic land of fog, mountains and lost in a jungle ruins of megalithic cities.

You will know about empire of Chachapoyas - nation of mages and warriors, one of the biggest cultures of ancient world. You're going to the magic land, where reality is blurred with dreams, and present with the past.

Place: Northern Peru.
Environment: Mountainous jungle.
Goal: Lima, Kuelap fortress, horseback and trekking adventure, numerous Chachapoya ruins (including a few unknown to public).
Time: 15 days

This is the expedition to land closed for massive tourism.

 

Remains of fortresses, cemeteries and even whole cities forgotten in a dense mountainous jungle. This is expedition for people who love to explore. Who are fascinated with idea of seeing places forgotten from not centuries, but thousands of years.

 

However, those ruins are not prepared for ordinary tourists, the human bones and rests of ceramic are still on the ground.

"People of the clouds" could be forgotten forever if not a ruins what they left. Number and scale of their cities are far greater than left-over of Egyptians, Incas and Chinese emperors. Until now many people (even historians!) don’t know about that.

Just in present century archeologists started excavations in few most important ruins.

 

Chachapoyas region is very remote, climate hard and jungle hardly passable. Spanish legends says about 7 "lost cities" of Chachapoyas. Until now scientist expeditions (mostly done by American explorer Gene Savoy) discovered 5 of them.

 

We explore parts of Chachapoya land by jeep, and horse plus some short treks. This expedition is not psychically demanded. What you need to expect, is exploring the world of thrill and dark secrets of past.

 

Also you need to be prepared for spend nearly 2 weeks in hard, mountainous environment. Don’t expect any nightlife. Don’t expect tropics - most of the time Chachapoya region is covered by fog. Coming back to home you'll ask yourself, if all this wasn’t just a dream. Your trophy - "mystic gobelin", artifact of ancient Chachapoyas will be a evidence, that all this was real.

2,3,4 – “Gran Vilaya” program: jeep, horse and trekking to ruins of Gran Vilaya.
5 – Kuelap.
6 – Revash.
7 – Leymebamba.
8,9,10 – Condor’s Lake expedition.
11,12 – Diablo Wasi expedition.
13 – Cajamarca.
14 – Back to Lima.

 

WARNING:

Officially it's forbidden to take with you any ancient artifact with historical value. If you do this, you can expect get arrested at the airport in Peru or your home country and severely punished.

 

Price: Private expedition for 1 or 2 people cost 4950 USD.
Group expedition 1990-2500 USD per person depending on size of the group.
